    Two FFRCscientific results Won science and technology progress third prize by CAFS

    In March, there were two scientific achievements mainly conducted by FFRC won thescience and technology progress third prize by CAFS. The achievementsare 搆ey technology development and application of molecular breeding of Jian carp" and "aquatic products quality safety risk assessment in Taihulake".

    揔ey technology development and application of molecular breeding of Jian carp" is aiming at problems like germplasm degradation,long traditional breeding cycle and low efficiency, it developed key molecular breedingtechnologyto culture new varieties. For the first time, SNP markeris appliedto build molecular breeding ofJian carp which obtained the fast growth with multiple tags group of propagation. At the same time, combined with microsatellite markers in genetic analysis, it avoid inbreeding within the group. 4 patents for invention has been achieved nationally, 26 papers (including 4SCI papers) were published. This new technology produced genetic improvement of Jian carp, and popularized and applicated in many provinces, made great economic and social benefits, and promoted the healthy and sustainable development for the carp aquaculture.

    In view of the uncertain quality and safety of aquatic products of taihu lake which is easy to cause problems such as consumer confusion, "aquatic products quality safety risk assessment in Taihu lake" has been clear about the main environmental pollutants in taihu lake water body including heavy metal, persistent organic pollutants (pops) and three types of biological toxins. In the study of the mechanisms of heavy metal toxicity to fish, this research was thefirst timeto reveal the residue in the taihu lake aquatic products and risk; In the study of microcystin algae toxins mechanism and toxicity to fish, it carried out comprehensive assessment on the residue and consumption of aquatic products. A state authorized invention patent was gained; Published 10 papers and 1 book.Quality safety production consumption guide was sorted out. Results provide a scientific basis for the production and consumption of aquatic products in Taihulake and gained good social benefits.
