    FFRC has made new progress in the field of micro-ecological environment research in fishery waters

    Recently, the Dept. of Fishery Environment Protection of FFRC has made new progress in the field of micro-ecological environment research in fishery waters. Related research papers has been published online in the environmental top journal “Environmental Pollution”.

    The Dept. of Fishery Environment Protection of FFRC conducted research on the composition, distribution and migration of antibiotic resistance genes in the Procambarus clarkii culture pond system and the integrated Procambarus clarkii-rice farming system. Related paper “Metagenomics analysis reveals the distribution and communication of antibiotic resistance genes within two different red swamp crayfish Procambarus clarkii cultivation ecosystems” with Associate researcher. Fan Limin as the first author and researcher Chen Jiazhang as the corresponding author has been published online in the environmental top journal "Environmental Pollution"(IF: 6.551).     Composition characteristics and migration of antibiotic resistance genes in the Procambarus clarkii culture pond system and the integrated Procambarus clarkii-rice farming system

    The results of the research showed that whether it is the monoculture model of Procambarus clarkii or the co-cultivation model of Procambarus clarkii, the resistance genes in the system are not derived from the culture process, but from the external environment. It is suggested that attention should be paid to the possible impact of agricultural production on systemic resistance genes, especially the use of organic fertilizer should be avoided in the integrated Procambarus clarkia-rice farming system.
