The project was implemented in the training center of the Ministry of Marine Fisheries Resources of Eritrea from November 29 to December 19, 2019. In response to the needs of Eritrea, the Freshwater Fisheries Research Center and the East China Sea Fisheries Research Institute sent 8 experts to Eritrea. Six modules, including “Fishery Management System building”, “Marine fishing industry technology”, “Mariculture”, “Fish nutrition and feed development”, “Fish disease prevention and control mechanism”, and “Aquatic product processing technology” were set up to promote China’s advanced and practical technology and management experiencein aquaculture. A total of 72 technicians and management officials from the fields of administration, research, extension of the Ministry of Marine Fisheries Resources and enterprise of Eritrea participated in the training, and over 100 people attended the training.

The project has achieved remarkable results. Yang Zigang,Chinese Ambassador to Eritrea, Wang Lipei, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Embassy,Eritrea Minister of Marine Fisheries Clyde, Minister of the Ministry of Marine Fishery Resources of Eritrea, director of Fisheries Development Division, director of Research and Human ResourcesDivision, etc. have successively attended the related activities and gave a high evaluation. Eritrean National Television reported on the implementation of the project.
