On June 3, the 2022-2023 Annual Review Appraisal Meeting held by Jiangsu Provincial Freshwater Shrimp Industry System was held in Wuxi. Over 60 experts attended the meeting, including Division Chief JIANG Xuezhong, and Deputy Division Chief BI Dongmei of the Science and Education Division of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Jiangsu Province, Deputy Director General XU Gangchun of FFRC, officials in charge of the local Divisions of Science and Education where the demonstration bases of Freshwater Shrimp System are, all post experts in Freshwater Shrimp System, and Directors of all extension demonstration bases. The meeting was presided over by Chief Expert FU Hongtuo, Researcher of FFRC.

At the meeting, Deputy Director General XU Gangchun delivered a speech on behalf of the supporting institutes of the Freshwater Shrimp System Innovation Center. He expressed his sincere gratitude to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Jiangsu Province for the guidance, to the local Divisions of Science and Education for the support and to all members of the system for the cooperation. He said that Freshwater Shrimp is one of the typical varieties cultivated by FFRC, and FFRC will constantly devote to escorting the development of the Freshwater Shrimp System and supporting the high-quality development of Jiangsu Freshwater Shrimp Industry.

Chief JIANG Xuezhong said that with the support of FFRC, as well as the guidance of the chief expert, and the close cooperation of all post experts and base directors, all the works in the past year were implemented well. He hoped that all members of the system must regard strengthening the system building as the priority for the healthy development of the system, constantly optimize management, set up strict appraisal standards, strengthen exchanges, and fully support the upward development of the Freshwater Shrimp Industry in Jiangsu Province.

Subsequently, the chief expert, 5 post experts and 11 base directors respectively made their reports. They summarized their work of 2022-2023, and put forward the plan for the next year. In accordance with the appraisal management approach, the meeting evaluated and scored the work performance of the chief expert, post experts and base directors.

Deputy Chief BI Dongmei spoke highly of the work of the Freshwater Shrimp System in the past year. She said that the Annual Review Appraisal was fully prepared, and she pointed out that over the past year, the characteristics of the base have become more obvious, the training of new agriculturists has achieved remarkable results and the overall work has made great progress.

Afterwards, Chief Expert FU Hongtuo organized all the post experts, base directors and backbone experts to discuss the priority of next year’s work and special activities, and detailed deployments according to the guidance of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Jiangsu Province.
