The National Aquatic Technology Extension Station and China Society of Fisheries carried out the selection of key extension aquatic species (leading species) and key extension aquaculture technology (main technology) in 2023. The new aquatic variety “FFRC strain common carp No. 2” cultivated by Freshwater Fisheries Research Center was successfully selected as a key extension aquaculture variety.

“FFRC strain common carp No. 2” (variety registration number: GS-01-003-2017) has a number of trait advantages, including fast growth, high survival rate, good body shape, stable traits.

At the same time, the good extension and application effect of “FFRC strain common carp No. 2” has also won the trust of demonstration households. In terms of seed supply, billions of “FFRC strain common carp No. 2” seedlings can be provided every year. In terms of aquaculture demonstration, various types of aquaculture demonstrations and applications such as ponds, cages, paddy fields and lotus fields have been carried out, with a cumulative extension area of more than 1.5 million mu and an additional economic benefits of more than 1.3 billion yuan.
