    “Boosting Rural Revitalization with the Development of Fishery Villages” – FFRC Successfully Organized Two Foreign Aide Training Programs

    On August 11, the “Seminar on Fishery Village Revitalization and Comprehensive Development for Developing Countries” sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce officially started at FFRC.

    Zhu Jian, Member of the Party Committee of FFRC and Chief of the Division of Science, said in his speech that FFRC has always adhered to the green development of fishery, and the promotion of the revitalization of fishery villages, increase of fishery production and fishermen's income as its own responsibility, and has always been committed to South-South cooperation in aquaculture. FFRC has helped developing countries to enhance their fishery development capacity and made important contributions to the continuous promotion of the revitalization of the global fishery industry and the realization of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

    Zhao Yuhong, Deputy Chief of the Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation Division of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce, congratulated the successful opening of the seminar and said that the Chinese government will continue to make continuous efforts to implement the “Belt and Road” initiative, promote South-South cooperation, and share development results. She hoped that participants will be able to learn something, become promoters of friendly exchanges between countries, and contribute to the development of fishery villages in different countries.

    Ms. Della Pena Geli, a senior aquaculture expert from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources of the Philippines, delivered a speech as a representative of the participants. She looked forward to learning and exchanging advanced fishery industry revitalization technology and experience through this training and exchange, so as to contribute to the development of fishery villages in the Philippines.

    The 21- day seminar attracted 22 participants from 6 countries, including the Philippines, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand and South Africa.

    On the same day, the “Training Course on Aquatic Products Trade and Market Development for Developing Countries” was successfully completed. Representatives of outstanding participants from Uganda and Sri Lanka exchanged their learning experiences respectively. They hoped to further deepen the China-Asia- Africa cooperation in various fields, they believed that “China’s wisdom” and “China’s plan” will help developing countries to form a new pattern of “fast and good” development.
