Recently, the book “Theory and Practice of Modern Agricultural Industrial Technology System Construction: The Special Volume of Characteristic Freshwater Fish System” was published and distributed by Agricultural Press. This book is written by all the post experts of the National Characteristic Freshwater Fish Industry Technology System, reviewing the development and growth of the industry system since its establishment in 2009, systematically summarizing the achievements of the system in terms of achievement cultivation, talent training, docking with enterprises, service industries, poverty alleviation, rural revitalization, and industry consulting, which has a reference role in solving the problem of disconnection between agricultural research and industrial demand..

Over the years, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Finance, the system has gathered 52 expert teams across the country. According to the needs of the industry and people’s livelihood, the “production and research chain” from species, feed, aquaculture, diseases to processing has been laid out, covering 11 species, such as tilapia, channel catfish, perch, snakehead, mandarin fish, yellow catfish, eel, loach, finless eel, sturgeon and salmon trout.

The expert team takes the system as a platform to actively carry out joint research, focusing on solving the bottleneck problem in the development of the characteristic freshwater fish industry, and continuously acquiring technologies in the links of selective breeding of fine seed, fry expansion, feed development, green aquaculture, disease prevention and control and processing, forming a large number of fine seed and good methods, effectively promoting the high-quality development of the characteristic freshwater fish industry, and helping China’s poverty alleviation and rural revitalization strategies.
