Recently, Researcher Fu Hongtuo, Chief of the Dept. of Aquatic Genetics and Breeding of FFRC, went to Ehu Town to carry out research on rice- freshwater prawn-crayfish polyculture model.

Researcher Fu Hongtuo first visited the rice-freshwater prawn-crayfish polyculture farm in Ehu Town to learn more about the problems existing in the process of rice-freshwater prawn-crayfish polyculture and gave on-site guidance. At the same time, the relevant personnel of Wuxi Aquatic and Animal Husbandry Technology Extension Station conducted on-site production testing of freshwater prawn “Taihu No. 2”. Freshwater prawn “Taihu No. 2” seed has grown to 460 ind./kg after one month of breeding, and its weight has increased by 17 times. Freshwater prawn “Taihu No. 2” has the advantages of the growth and has made important contributions to increase local fishery production and income of local farmers.
